Homeward Bound...

Homeward Bound c.1933-4 - Ernest Martin Hennings (1886-1956)

looking ahead
with downcast eyes

silent
but saying so much

homeward bound
but not home

together
but
alone

the waters are dark...

Temple of Isis at Philae, flood time 1910 By Diemer Michael Zeno (1867-1939)  Watercolor on paper

the waters are dark
but the sun shines

the sun shines on
the sacred breath
of a lady
who levelled
rich and poor
slaves and free

who nurtured the world of a child

and yet

she found time
for the beyond
the final call

and her final call
her magic
still
floats
in the sunshine

on dark waters
