Hong Yi ~ Coffee Cup Stains Portrait
This portrait was inspired by Jay Chou's song/album Secret.
(Jay Chou now has a wax model at Madame Tussaud's mueum in Thailand.)
Her blog is Oh I See Red
She paints in unusual mediums and has a Master Of Architecture from the University of Melbourne.
In the coffee season
Your taste was warm
And lingering
I sipped
Smiling
Content in the
Flavour of
Your beauty
I drank my cup
Slowly
Sipping
The fragrance of
Our virtual heaven
Longing for the warmth
To last
But
Sadly
You had finished yours
While it was hot
Huffington Post reported that she made a portrait from 750 pairs of socks

Had me at the title, my one last vice, okay second last , but taste the crema as I read
Oohh... lovely imagery. I like the way it ends :)
A poem as lovely on the surface as it is in the metaphor. I also love your header picture. Did you do it?
I love how people are so creative. Their imaginations know no bounds. She seems very talented.
You tribute to her work is lovely, as is the thought of a cuppa coffee now.
This is just so good. The metaphor is perfect, too - you had finished yours when it was hot. Yup. Been there. Really good writing. What an intriguing artist - a coffee painting!
Great metaphor in this! Wonderful!
What a lovely picture ~
That last stanza was telling of their relationship ~ Well done ~
love the artwork. and that last line is killer.
This is smart and clear, and it's about coffee (sort of). I love it. That ending is chilling. Really, this is fantastic. And that artwork reached into my chest and stopped my heart beating for a full five seconds before releasing it. I'm off to look up more. Thank you so much for sharing this.
