Ross Bridge...

Ross Bridge, Tasmania by Rev Norris Brook...
Rev Norris Brook was a minister at the Yagoona Baptist Church, N.S.W. in the early '60's.
He and his wife Ethel had 2 boys - Craig and Dean...
( He began attending the N.S.W. Baptist Theological College in 1954.
Rev Ron Hansard was in his year.)
I think there was a daughter too, but I am not sure...
As a sideline to his ministry, he loved to paint in oils...
I loved mountains... and he painted a snow-capped mountain by water for me...
The painting above is the only example of his work that I have found online...

book of life...

Book of Life - painted sculpture by David Kracov (1945-  ) ...
Michael Douglas gave this as a gift to his father Kirk Douglas...

in our life cycles
we walk
sunshines and rains
cobblestones and
burning sands

but in the cosmic weave of things
are always there in
the book of leaves for

Eastern Dream...

Eastern Dream (1904) Jean Lecomte Du Nouÿ (1842-1923)  Oil on canvas

when I sleep
in your world
I awaken
the spirit of
your eyes
your nearness
your breathing

I feel the wings
of your presence
bearing the joys of
our yesterdays

Humanity Slipping Away...

Humanity Slipping Away - Helen Savva - Limassol, Cyprus
I made this as a response to the tragic death of the 3-year-old Syrian refugee
– Aylan Kurdi –
who had drowned together with his 5-year-old brother Ghalib and mother Rehan
in the Mediterranean Sea while trying to escape Syria.

beyond my world

few knew Kurdish Kobane
a border city
balancing between
Turkey and Syria
until it was reduced to
80% rubble

but they know now

beyond my world

few understood
the relentless tides of desperate souls
seeking some kind of life
without fear

but they understand now

beyond my world

no one saw my three year old son

until he slipped away from me

but they now see
in tragedy

he is

Isn't he?
