Imeritian Winter...

Imeritian Winter by Guram Dolenjashvili (1943- )

leafless
pinches of homely lights
snowy contortions
shadows

a wealth of shadows
by moonlight

a lone figure
patiently
trudges
the fine line

of yesterdays

So much texture in a black and white world,
me thinks the shadows and light might be battling for
the soul of the man on that thin line.

You packed a lot into a short few verses, enjoyed it; very accurate sense of response to the dynamic striking painting. Is your poem in a particular form, or are the line breaks just your own?

I read a lot of sadness and solitary moments in your piece.

love the pure darkness of this piece... especially "a wealth of shadows by moonlight" where I find peace.

A winter night.. There in the shadows there is both comfort and something deeper sinister.. Wonderful wordpainting.

Thank you for the finely made match between your words and image. For a brief moment, you left me in the white trudging in the footsteps of that lone figure.
