Be Somebody

Be SomebodyGeorge Underwood (1947- )

in a perfect world of
sculpted
creamy
mannequins

like
cloned
bone
swimsuits

breathing

(perhaps)

there can only be

subtle

revolution

in

chained
soul
music

This painting graces a recent album cover of the Norwegian rock band Ungdomskulen

Seven Crows

Alex Colville (1920- 16th July 2013) - Seven Crows (1980)
Canada
Colville's website is HERE.

large 7 flying black capes
like living pockets of dark smog
veiling the golds and greens and watery silvered landscapes

like 7 deadly symbols
of dark souls
scavenging for
the unwary
the weak
the defenceless
the outcasts
the unprotected
meat

and yet
when the ominous presence of 7 crows fades
no trace of
foul debris
or foul play
lingers

In the mystical hour...

Joseph Zbukvic - Santa Maria de la Salute at Sunset, Venice
- Australian watercolourist from Yugoslovia
His website is HERE

When waters sleep in silken cradles

When boats idle in the lilt of tides

When evening mystical tears
Weep their secrets

Wings spin the song of

Final lights

In my coffee...

Hong Yi ~ Coffee Cup Stains Portrait
This portrait was inspired by Jay Chou's song/album Secret.
(Jay Chou now has a wax model at Madame Tussaud's mueum in Thailand.)
Her blog is Oh I See Red
She paints in unusual mediums and has a Master Of Architecture from the University of Melbourne.

In the coffee season
Your taste was warm
And lingering

I sipped
Smiling
Content in the
Flavour of
Your beauty

I drank my cup
Slowly
Sipping
The fragrance of
Our virtual heaven
Longing for the warmth
To last

But
Sadly
You had finished yours
While it was hot

Huffington Post reported that she made a portrait from 750 pairs of socks
